Excitement took precedence

The last time our Cafe Canvas group met and exchanged canvases, the excitement of the next step over took us and not all our step 2 photos were taken before the artist jumped into the project. So you will just have to wait til the final step to see all the results.

Three Artists in a Cafe

The brain child of three artists in Ottawa is the "Cafe Canvas Round Robin". Here's how it works. Each artist has taken a 16" x 16" gallery wrapped canvas and has made a start on a painting. Debbie Stubinsky-Guthrie, Chéryl Polin and Catherine Gutsche, all mixed media artists, met last Sunday morning for coffee in a local cafe where we exchanged a canvas with another artist. That canvas is now in the studio of one of the other artists in the group. Our next step is to take that base painting and alter it.

We will meet again in one month to see how step two looks. Over coffee, we'll exchange one more time so that each of us gets a turn at each canvas. More than likely we'll take another month to finalize the canvas, meet again and the original artist will get their starter canvas back.

None of us knows what the final painting will look like but I know we are all excited about what we'll be taking home.
